Michaela Hassett-Romero

Michaela is our instructor for the Tuesday/Thursday Advanced Jazz and Musical Theatre classes. She has extensive dance experience, having been dancing since the age of 12.  She is trained in all styles of dance and gymnastics.  Michaela is the proud owner of “Michaela’s Dance Magic” in Glendale, AZ.  Some of Michaela’s professional achievements include performing on multiple shows including “Oklahoma” and “American Superstars”.  She was a lead dancer in several Las Vegas shows and was a member of the Phoenix Suns dance line.  She is a Cecchetti certified ballet instructor and has also trained in buckram yoga.  We feel very lucky and are mighty thankful to have Michaela with us.

Carol Dana

Carol is our instructor for the Jazzy Poms class and the Advanced Tap class. She has extensive dance experience and has taught ballet, tap and jazz including traditional, contemporary, hip hop and musical theater. During her tenure at Dysart High School she choreographed several musicals and was line coach for the dance line. In 2014 Carol was selected Ms.Senior Arizona and won the Talent Trophy for her tap dance to “Sing, Sing, Sing”.  We are extremely pleased to have Carol with us.

Paulette Halle

Paulette is our Hula instructor, or Kumu Hula.  She has been dancing the hula since 2005 after retiring to Sun City West.  After learning from her talented Kuma Hula, Pat Pantea, Paulette took over the ropes in 2011 and has found her calling.  Sharing their “Aloha Spirit”, Paulette brings her students, the Nani Komohana Tutus, to many private venues to perform hula and educate the audience in Hawaiian traditions and culture.  Paulette wishes to say “Aloha and Mahalo”!!  

Valerie Moore-Colvert

Valerie teaches Beyond Basic Tap and Fundamentals of Dance on Wednesday and Friday.  Plus she teaches Pilates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Her education is in Dance Performance and Psychology, along with certifications in Group Fitness and Pilates.  She has been a dance educator and fitness instructor since 2004.  Valerie has also taught Ballet and Barre classes to children and seniors alike.  With an abundance of patience and smiles, Valerie will guide you through all the steps/movements to meet your dance and fitness goals.  We are happy to have the vivacious and energetic Valerie as part of our dance family.

Tammy Wolfe

Tammy is teaching our “Grace in Motion” class, a non-performance ballet “barre” and “centering” class on Mondays and Wednesday.  She has trained with the Bolshoi Ballet and with the Portland Ballet Workshop.  In Hawaii she was a gymnastic coach and opened a ballet school.  Tammy’s goal is to offer students the opportunity to explore and express themselves thru her classical, structured movement approach, to bring better posture, strength, flexibility, balance, and GRACE.  

Traci Mann

Traci has been teaching 47 years. Her career in dance has taken her from the USA, to Venezuela, and all the way to Sweden.  Traci danced in New York City for 30 years. Her teaching credentials include Professor of Tap at NYU (3 years), Brooklyn Arts Council as Teaching Artist (9 years) and at the Professional Center for the Performing Arts (5 years). DanceSensations is honored to have Traci teach Beginning Tap every Thursday at 5:30 pm at the Palm Ridge Recreation Center’s Dance Studio. This class is all about having fun while getting great exercise and developing tap dance rudiments.
