Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical – humor, pathos, love, anger – are communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole.
If you enjoy dancing and getting a chance to throw in a little acting along the way, our Musical Theatre class is the one for you!
Calendar Girl (photo above), which was performed at our 2017 Hearts and Follies production of “Dancing Thru the Seasons” is a perfect example of Musical Theatre. Each month was represented by an individual dancer, who had a part to play when her month was mentioned in the song. It was fun, fun, fun!!
