Zumba is a dance fitness program created by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez during the 1990s.   Zumba involves dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic music. The choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo.  Squats and lunges are also included.  In one Zumba class, a person can burn between 500-1000 calories, depending on the energy put forth.

Readying for a rigorous workout are members of the Zumba class of the DanceSensations club.

Classes are ongoing and registration can be done before the class session.  

Our other fitness classes are Pilates and Tai Chi which might interest you as well.

COST:  Annual club dues are $15.00.  The fitness classes (Zumba, Pilates and Tai Chi) are punch-card classes and cost depends on how many punches you want to purchase (16 = $4.00 per class) (8 = $4.50 per class) (5 = $5.00 per class).  The punch-cards have no expiration date.  So, it is basically a pay as you go class.
